Keep It Fresh
Keep your website fresh after launch.
Keep It Fresh is optional monthly care, $149/month: hosting, health checks, backups, routine maintenance and an allowance for small updates. You own your site with or without it.
Who it is for
What this fixes
Owners whose site was built by Tech Donut and who would rather not host, watch and update it themselves. Sites we did not build are assessed by hand and quoted individually.
Small changes pile up
Opening hours, prices and staff change. If updating the site is a chore, it quietly goes out of date.
Nobody notices when it is down
A site can stop loading or a security certificate can lapse, and the first person to notice is a customer.
Software gets old
The parts a site is built from need routine updates. Skipping them is how small problems become large ones.
What you get
Included
- Managed hosting for eligible Tech Donut builds
- Scheduled health checks
- Routine security and dependency maintenance, where it applies
- Backups
- Up to 30 minutes of small content updates each month
Quoted separately
- New pages
- Redesigns
- New functionality
- Marketing campaigns
- Third-party subscription fees
- Emergency recovery outside the agreed scope
Work outside the plan is quoted, and starts only when you approve the quote.
How it works
A person at Tech Donut handles your requests and the routine maintenance. We log the time against your monthly allowance and tell you before a request would go over it.
Send a request
Email us what needs changing, with the new text or image.
We reply
We aim to respond within 2 business days. That is a response target, not a promise of when the work will be finished.
Small updates use your allowance
Up to 30 minutes of small updates are included each month. We log the time we spend.
Bigger work is quoted first
If a request is beyond the allowance or outside the plan, we quote it and start only when you approve the quote.
What counts as a small update
A small update is a change to text, an image or contact details that you supply, inside pages that already exist.
- New opening hours
- A changed phone number or address
- A swapped photo
- A seasonal notice on an existing page
How the allowance works
The plan includes up to 30 minutes of small updates each month. Unused time does not carry over to the next month.
A request that would go beyond the allowance is quoted, and starts only when you approve the quote.
What monitoring does and does not do
Scheduled checks confirm that your site responds. They run at intervals, so they are not instant, and a person follows up during business hours.
This is not an emergency response service, and a check that passes does not mean every page and form has been tested.
Hosting
Eligible Tech Donut builds are hosted on our managed setup as part of the plan. Where possible, your domain stays in an account you control.
Cancelling
You can leave the plan and keep your site.
- Before the plan ends we tell you the end date, how hosting is handed over, how you get an export of your site, and any transition fees that were agreed.
- We do not take a site down automatically because one payment failed.
Sites we did not build
Sites we did not build are assessed by hand and quoted individually. We look at how the site is built and hosted first, then tell you whether we can take it on and at what price.
What it costs
One monthly price for the plan. Anything outside it is quoted first.
$149 /month
Optional, and accepted separately from the build. You own your site with or without it.
Questions
Is Keep It Fresh required?
No. It is optional and accepted separately from the build. Your site is yours with or without it.
What happens to time I do not use?
The allowance is up to 30 minutes each month. Unused time does not carry over to the next month.
What if I need more than the allowance?
We tell you before a request would go over it, quote the extra work, and start only when you approve the quote.
How quickly do you respond?
We aim to respond within 2 business days. That is when you hear from us, not a promise of when the work will be finished, and it is not an emergency service.
Does the plan include new pages or a redesign?
No. New pages, redesigns and new functionality are separate work, quoted before it starts.
What happens if I cancel?
Before the plan ends we tell you the end date, how hosting is handed over, how you get an export of your site, and any transition fees that were agreed.
What if a payment fails?
We do not take a site down automatically because one payment failed.
Can you look after a site someone else built?
Possibly. Sites we did not build are assessed by hand and quoted individually.
